Your New Year’s Resolutions… Remember those? So often, we begin the year with a promise or two and, by March, almost of those promises have been broken at least a few times over.
So what’s the solution? Simple, don’t make any New Year’s Resolution! Instead, make a Body Camp Daily Commitment…
A Body Camp Daily Commitment or BCDC for short is a behaviour that takes approximately 10 minutes and is repeated every day without fail for at least 30 days. After that time, the behaviour will no longer be a conscious activity and become a part of your happier, healthier life.
After all, if you do anything everyday for a period of time, it becomes a habit and a part of your daily lifestyle. In essence, we are all just a collection of daily habits that build up over time. So by using the BCDC for 10 minutes you will build habits into your daily life that take very little precious time from your busy schedule.
Commit to 10 minutes everyday to something that effects you positively. Choose from the following:
- A mindful meditation
- Yoga
- A lovely walk
- A slow steady jog
- A bodyweight training session
- Sitting down, breathing deep and closing the eyes
- Saying positive affirmations to yourself such as “I have all I need within me now”
- Eat a meal mindfully
- Help someone or listen to someone
Then post a picture of which one you are committing to at @thebodycampibiza on Instagram or on our Facebook page. This isn’t idle vanity, far from it. Instead by posting photos up, you make your commitment a reality and one that has accountability. In return, you will receive support from The Body Camp community.
Watch how your ten-minute BCDC becomes a habit and, exactly like a muscle that is trained everyday, it becomes stronger and more used to the motion.
